While an Intern/volunteer with The UpTake, I live-tweeted sessions of the Minnesota House and Senate, wrote blogs summarizing the happenings during the COP15 Summit, and maintained the Tumblr for several months while trying to establish its groove. It was a blast and a great learning experience to work with a small, innovative citizen journalism organization and get the chance to really run wild with social media on their behalf.

I spent a month as a Writing Intern for Link to Diversity, a small startup which aimed to help hook students and young people up with work, study, and volunteer abroad programs. Although it was only a month long, it was an intense internship where I spent nearly 6 hours daily researching, writing, and implementing SEO strategy into the web copy. With this new content, the website saw a significant increase in traffic from Google searches, thanks to the SEO as well as press releases my fellow intern and I wrote.
